Don ƙididdigewakayan aikin gearko dai, kana buƙatar sanin kozagayen zagaye (pp)ko kumadiamita na farar ƙasa (dd)da kumaadadin haƙoran (zz). Kayan aikin (mm) siga ce mai daidaito wadda ke bayyana girman haƙorin gear kuma tana da matuƙar muhimmanci ga ƙirar gear. Ga manyan dabarun da matakai:
1. Amfani da Siffar Zagaye (pp)
Ana ƙididdige module ɗin kai tsaye dagazagayen zagaye(tazara tsakanin haƙoran da ke kusa da da'irar filin wasa):
m=pπm=πp;
Misali:
Idan p=6.28 mmp= 6.28mm, to:
m=6.28π≈2 mmm=π6.28≈2mm
2. Amfani da Diamita na Fitilar (dd) da Yawan Hakora (zz)
Alaƙar da ke tsakanin diamita na ƙusa, module, da adadin haƙoran ita ce:
d=m×z⇒m=dzd=m×z⇒m=zd;
Misali:
Idan gear yana da z = 30z= haƙora 30 da diamita na siffa d=60 mmd= 60mm, to:
m=6030=2 mmm= 3060= 2mm
3. Amfani da Diamita na Waje (DD)
Ga gears na yau da kullun,diamita na waje (DD)(diamita daga tip zuwa tip) yana da alaƙa da tsarin da adadin haƙoran:
D=m(z+2)⇒m=Dz+2D=m(z+2)⇒m=z+2D;
Misali:
Idan D=64 mmD= 64mm da z=30z= 30, sannan:
m=6430+2=6432=2 mmm=30+264=3264=2mm

Manyan kayayyaki (mm) = haƙora masu ƙarfi don ɗaukar nauyi.
